William Armstrong Scales: A.K.A. “Uncle Bill”. My uncle, who mysteriously disappeared while working at a radar tracking station on the Eastern Test Range during the Cold War. He was employed by RCA.
Uncle John: Uncle Bill’s younger brother. Also my mom’s brother. He lives in Chicago.
Cousin John : My cousin the “rocket scientist” who lives in L.A.
Gabe : John’s wife. She works for the government doing things we can’t talk about.
Sue : My mom, Uncle Bill Scales’ oldest sister.
Ross Taylor: Uncle Bill’s childhood friend who, at the time of this writing is 92. His family founded the Archbold [Ohio] Buckeye newspaper.
Donald Diehl: Employed by GE on the Eastern Test Range. Bill Scales’ diving partner. Don disappeared with Bill. Lost to the Bermuda Triangle during the Cold War.
Nat Walker: A San Salvador Islander who worked on the Eastern Test Range during the Cold War.
Jenny May: Nat Walker’s wife
Snake Eye: Otherwise known as Clifford Fernander. San Salvadoran Island history tour guide and domino virtuoso.
Juanita Vernecia: Born and raised on San Salvador Island, she worked on the military bases during the 1950’s. She knew Uncle Bill and Donald Diehl. She is Denise’s mom.
Denise: Juanita Vernicia’s daughter. A child of San Salvador Island and a child of my uncle’s roommate (in 1958).
Mr. X: Denise’s father. My uncle’s room mate in 1958.
Liz Stotzer Leupp: A member of the family that lived next door to my grandmother (and Uncle Bill). She does an in depth tour of Archbold, Ohio.
Kim Diehl: Donald Diehl’s niece. She’s not the famous quilter.
